Repurposed Pewter Quaich Candle - Winter Solstice
A quaich is a traditional Scottish two-handled drinking cup, used for centuries as a symbol of welcome and friendship - typically passed between host and guest at celebrations. This one, cast in pewter with Celtic knotwork detail on the handles and a braided band around the rim, has been given a new purpose as a hand-poured candle.
Scented with Winter Solstice - a blend of citrus, grapefruit and pine wood evoking fresh snowfall, with a heart of red berries and lychee and a base of vanilla and powdery musk - it's a fragrance that suits both the vessel and the season. Three cotton wicks give an even, steady burn across the wide, shallow bowl.
At 400g of wax and 11cm across (17cm with handles), it's a compact but characterful piece - ideal on a windowsill, shelf, or side table, and a genuinely thoughtful gift.
