Interview with London Accessory Week exhibitor Bijoux De Chagall| London Accessory Week by X Terrace

Handcrafted Eco-Jewellery. Mixing Sunshine of Gold and Moonlight of Silver, using the difference in Textures and Magic of Gemstones.

Who are you, and what products do you design for your brand?

I am a British Jewellery designer/maker and artist with a great passion for making silver & gold jewellery with beautiful gems. I studied for 5 years at Art & Design Academy in my early 20s and worked in the creative field for many years… Then, one day, my world changed dramatically and I quit my graphic design career (of over 20 years) to do a completely new thing - making jewellery. When I made this dramatic change - I was 52 years old!!
I am self-taught, having watched many videos, took professional jewellery courses and then started my own business and It’s been truly great & successful ever since! Our jewellery pieces are made from sustainable, recycled precious metals and ethically-sourced gemstones. We use both natural and Lab-grown Gemstones as these stones are Eco-Friendly and they have the same attributes as REAL Gemstones.
We take great satisfaction in using non-toxic products during the production process of our Jewellery. Recyclable materials and packaging are used wherever possible.

What kind of products do you make?

Handcrafted Eco-Jewellery. Mixing Sunshine of Gold and Moonlight of Silver, using the difference in Textures and Magic of Gemstones - these are all my Secrets and Love that I am sharing with you!
My concept is to produce Eco-Jewellery which is handcrafted using raw, recycled precious metals - gold and silver together. No gold plating method is used in the making of our jewellery as this method is not sustainable as lots of precious gold is lost as a result of this mass-production technique.

Which of your designs is your favourite? Can you tell us the story behind it?

The crown setting Alexandrite ring design is my favourite and ever since it's introduction to the market it has become a favourite for our customers too.
It all started from one loose gemstone my mum passed to me (during a family visit) which magically changed colour under different - artificial & natural day lights. My mum said this stone was originally from my granny's ring, but sometime in the past when times were difficult, the gold was sold but the gemstone has stayed in our family for years… This amazing Alexandrite gemstone has captivated myself & my husband's imaginations and this is how the magical journey into the jewellery world all began.
